Nation des Glaciers

As a campaign to pressure the Chilean Government to create legislation to preserve Chile’s glaciers (which make up 82% of all glaciers in South America), Greenpeace Chile claimed sovereignty over the country’s glaciers and created its own nation within a nation, known as The Glacier Republic. Matías is now working with Chilean activists and politicians to draft meaningful legislation to protect this vital source of fresh water from mining interests.
